Yesterday, we hiked up above Tabernash to take pictures of the aspen and just enjoy the day. It was really beautiful up there. I was on the search for red/orange aspen. We found them.
This is Tabernash and the Fraser River Valley from up on the mountain.

Wow!

Our house this week, the little aspen on the far right have
still not turned color.

Last weekend there was still snow in the shade.

I hiked around while David fished.
Hard to say who had more fun.

This week it rained a lot. At least it rained at our house. As you can see, it snowed just above us. You can see just a bit of snow on the ski runs at Winter Park. So, today, David started chopping wood in earnest.
In this picture he is preparing kindling in our back yard.

These are the action shots of David chopping up a big log. Pretty cool.

September Sunshine

Last weekend after David's folks left, we decided to check out a new place and took the road up to meadow creek(?) reservoir. What a beautiful day for a drive.

It's up a narrow dirt road with lots of curves and rocks but we saw people up there with their cars so it must not be that bad. We think it would be a fun place to camp next summer if only because it is so close to where we live.

This is a view of the "Devil's Thumb" formation as seen from Fraser. Some day I'll get up closer to it just to see what it's really like.

Visitors

Davids folks were here last weekend. We did some antiquing and some sight seeing and some eating out and played some dominoes. It was a fun visit.

Rawlins, WY

Last weekend we traveled up to see my little sister in Rawlins. David fixed her downstairs sink, I fixed a pair of pants and Edna fixed us a pie. My camera battery died so I did not get to take many of the pictures I wanted.
This is the blueberry/rhubarb pie in progress that Edna made for us.
It was a really good pie!

This is Edna sitting on her new glider. It took the three of us just a few hours to get it all put together.

This is Edna's house in Rawlins. You can just see David standing on the porch. Off to the right you can barely see our dogs in her back yard.
